Synopsis The March play is a dramatisation of Stevenson’s famous novella specially written for Incognito. The production will therefore be a World Premiere and the actors will be in the happy position of creating roles which have never been performed before.
The novel has, of course, been dramatized hundreds of times but is usually presented as a kind of supernatural horror story. The book is very different. It is a psychological thriller and a satire on Victorian hypocrisy, in which a veneer of cosy respectability masks a darker, more dangerous nature. The novel is very bitty and anecdotal and many of the events lack context. The incidents recorded in the book have been woven into a narrative which presents the characters from the novel in a comprehensive linear storyline.

Cast Details

The novel almost entirely lacks female characters but in in this version nine female roles have been added.
The minimum number of actors needed is 7 men and 5 women depending on whether parts are doubled or not.
