Written by Charles Dickens and adapted by Karen Louise Hebden and directed by Bob Bradick

The play centres around the character Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformation from being a bitter, miserly and cynical man to a generous, jovial and hopeful man. The other main themes refer to the relationships of various characters to highlight not only their significance for happiness but also the result of self-imposed isolation. Through these relationships and various Christmas celebrations, Scrooge comes to realise true Christmas spirit. He is also helped by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future.

The approximate running time is 2 hours and 25 minutes including an interval. The bar will be open before the performance and during the interval.

This amateur production of "A Christmas Carol" is presented by arrangement with Nick Hern Books.
